How the Psychologists Manage the Crowd

· The Houston airport’s authority received numerous complaints from passengers who have been waiting too long for their luggage. The authority hired more movers and there were fewer complaints. Then, the way of passengers from the ladder to transporters with luggage was increased six times. People began to spend their waiting time for luggage on the road. The complaints stopped.
· When the mass construction of skyscrapers began, many residents complained that they waited too long for the elevator. Then, the mirrors were installed next to the elevators, which allowed people to deal with their own appearance. The complaints stopped.
·  When supermarkets built, many shoppers complained that they had to queue at the checkout for too long with the trolley. Then, the trays with little things – chewing gums, chocolates, even condoms were installed next to the cash registers. This allowed the supermarkets to earn an additional $5 billion. The complaints stopped.
· At Disneyland, the first visitors complained that they had to queue for too long for various rides. Then, the Disneyland hung a special scoreboard, which indicated the approximate waiting time. But, the scoreboard always shows more time than the real waiting time. The visitors rejoice that they passed much faster. The complaints stopped.
